About Her: Born on July 3, 1927 in Wallasey, England, the oldest of 3 daughters, Nana met her husband Vincent who was an American infantryman at the end of WWII. They married in 1946 and moved to San Francisco where they raised 9 children. Nana was deeply committed to her faith. To her often gregarious family she was the overseer, manager, comforter, cook, counselor, seamstress and frequent ATM. Nana died peacefully on January 27, 2010 in her beloved husband's arms.
Why She's Terrific: Nana loved all of her family unconditionally. In spite of the busy and chaotic life of rearing nine children while working full time she always found time to help those in need, and always had an extra hand, minute or dollar if someone needed help. Nana had a quick British wit that would bring laughter into your day. She had a way of making family and everyone she met feel very special.
